TimeFloat ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our time tracking application for iOS and macOS.

We believe in minimal data collection. TimeFloat is designed to work locally on your device with optional iCloud sync, meaning your data stays under your control.

Information We Collect

Data You Create

  • Project names and details
  • Time entries and durations
  • Notes and timestamps
  • App preferences and settings

This data is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal identification information
  • Email addresses (except for optional support)
  • Location data
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Advertising identifiers

iCloud Sync

When you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This allows your data to sync across your Apple devices.

  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
  • We cannot access your iCloud data
  • You can disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings
  • Disabling sync removes data from iCloud but keeps local data

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Apple handles all subscription management, including:

  • Payment processing
  • Subscription renewals
  • Refund requests

Third-Party Services

TimeFloat does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share your data with any third parties.

The only third-party integration is optional Google Sheets export (Pro feature), which requires your explicit authorization and uses Google's OAuth for secure access.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

  • Local data is protected by your device's security
  • iCloud data uses Apple's encryption standards
  • Optional app lock with PIN or biometric authentication
  • No server-side data storage by TimeFloat

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: View all your data within the app
  • Export: Export your data as CSV or PDF
  • Delete: Delete individual entries or all data
  • Portability: Your data format is standard and exportable

Children's Privacy

TimeFloat is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
